A WOMAN APPEARED TO ME by Renee Vivien

Petrus was contemplative. His whole plump figure radiated the composure of a tolerant pasha. "Why do you hate men?" he demanded abruptly of San Giovanni, fixing his heavy gaze upon her.

"I neither love nor hate men," San Giovanni answered amicably. "What I hold against them is the great wrong they have done to women. They are political adversaries whom I want to injure for the good of the cause. Off the battlefield of ideas, I know them little and am indifferent to them."

VIOLA SONATA - REBECCA CLARKE

SILVER WOLF OPENING - TAKARAZUKA REVUE

Because I skipped the gif/image part today, I decided I could afford to share two videos. One is just a viola sonata by the classical composer, Rebecca Clarke, whom I only recently learned about and whose style I really adore, so I'm trying to dig up everything I can of hers.

The other one is another Takarazuka video! I found my own old uploads of Silver Wolf and the intro always gets to me, so you're getting that one. I also found the original 80s production of it on YouTube, but the quality wasn't as good, so I'll spare you. Mireille will always be my favourite of Maachan's characters and I uploaded an icon with her here, just to prove it. Not sure it'll stay that one, I have a bunch, but for now, this is what I went for. Love the colours.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RL
I had work today and I managed not to fret all morning about it, but just kind of do things at my own pace and get there on time and just... It was a day? It was good and I was in a good mood, but it was also just very ordinary and that's meant as a good thing. I didn't get totally hyper from it and it didn't run me down, so that comfortable middle actually worked today and I think that's a first. I'm super tired now and need to go to bed soon, but besides that, it was all normal, healthy reactions.

K. and I watched the Takarazuka revue show called Les Collages tonight and it was just very cosy and fun to rewatch something that's almost twenty years old? Like a journey back in time, not just for the Revue but for us and our relationship and where we were back then and where we are now. Amazing how being reminded of these experiences we've shared makes time a relative. Just, not really a factor at all.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RP
So, inspired by Maachan's Mireille and the icons I refound, I've made a new original character. We're back in my historical, period, queer mode and that's going to be fun when I will be writing that final fic for the [community profile] genprompt_bingo challenge tomorrow. Have already picked out three books for inspiration (A Woman Appeared to Me which is most chronologically fitting with this character, The Lady of the Camellias which fits location-wise, since as always I default to France for these things and last but not least, Jane Eyre, because Jane is a very Mireille-ish character). So tomorrow can just get that show on the road. I'm kind of excited, actually. I did a very good job at my Julie Duprat fic and although I haven't managed to finish it yet, the whole mode of writing period-style is just my favourite.

Anyway, I'll add Germaine to my character roster and see where that might take me.

And then, one of these days, I'm going to rewatch Silver Wolf in its entirety. It's been so, so long.
