Today is Maikaze Rira appreciation day. Also known as Walk Down Memory Lane. As a performer and the vibe she gives all her roles has pretty much defined how I perceive and write female characters, what types I'm attracted to and like to write myself. Gentle strength, that's the definition right there. Soft. Maachan was a serious mood for me for so long and still is, I could watch her in anything and it would immediately become worthy of my time. My eternal return to writing about the Female Role Actress in an All-Female Theatre in a Strange Land as a concept is largely due to her alone. I'm exploring it right now with these two, where Narira is basically named after Maachan, no shame.
Also, random bonus, because today will be Elio Day.

SILVER WOLF - ENDING
When it comes to favourite Maachan moments, it's always difficult to choose and even more difficult finding what I want online. I'd have loved showing you the song from Datenshi, but it's not on YouTube. Instead you're lucky and get something from Silver Wolf, where Mireille is definitely my favourite of Maachan's other roles. And the ending song is so atmospheric and very Zuka, so that's what we're going for.

All my waiting and nail-biting came to its conclusion. My parents came to visit.
And it was actually very good. They behaved, I behaved, we had some good talks, I got presents and it didn't take long, they only stayed for forty minutes. It was enough and it was what I had the energy for. I spent all of last night in a comatose state, though, so tired. So. Tired.
Now it's weekend and I'm just gonna relalx max. Tagging day later, when K. wakes up. Looking forward to getting Elio on the road.

Don't. Know. What. I'm. Doing. Pretty much. Too many balls in the air at once and I'm just trying to see what sticks and what doesn't. Sorry to anyone suffering under this method, it usually gets better at some point when I find the characters that work.
