FIND ME by André Aciman

The sequel to the book behind the Oscar-nominated Call Me By Your Name is not as widely known as its prequel. Probably for good reason. It's not nearly as expertly written and has some very unfortunate endings that I won't spoil here, but anyway. Even a relatively bad book can have beautiful, haunting passages and this is one of them. I always think about this moment when I think about Elio as a character. It is what he became after the events of CMBYN. Empty, longing, destroyed, but persevering nonetheless. In the face of his own hurt. In face of loss. I want to be as strong as him, going forward. I want to meet people as openly as he continues to do. Elio as a character will probably always be an inspiration to me, although I've long since stopped being blinded by the abusive, grooming relationship between Oliver and him. Because he keeps going and going and going and so will I.

HJALLERUP KRO - LAURA MO
Laura Mo was an artist whose first album was released the same year I moved away from home, back in 2007. I remember listening to a radio interview with her in the car while we drove my stuff to Aarhus. I fell in love immediately with her frail voice and her warm personality - and especially with her song smith writing, simple yet lyrical poems on melody. She plays the banjo as her main instrument and it gives her music a very folk-ish vibe that I also adore. I've been to a few of her concerts and have all her albums. Her journey to fame has been very slow and cumbersome, but I've loved following it. This is her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel" in Danish - the lyrics are fantastic!! And don't really need translation, her voice says it all.

It's been a pretty crappy day allover, but there have been some breaks from the crappiness, like...
__________
Couldn't actually concentrate on writing today, but remembered that K. (my girlfriend) and I have this enormous RP project lying around, a PSL (personal storyline) that we worked on for six months before finally finishing some weeks back and we are so pleased with it that we had discussed whether we shouldn't just put it up on AO3. Well, now I'm editing it, mostly formatting stuff, to put it up on the Archive. It's an enormous (just the first chapter is 50 pages and I think there will be maybe... five-seven chapters) fanfiction combining Lucifer (TV) and Call Me By Your Name (novel) into an epic Persephone myth reimagining. That said, Lucifer/Elio is now and always will be my crack OTP. They're such a good match, I can't even. Once the fanfic starts going up on AO3, I'll link to it and you can see for yourself.
I dare you not to ship it by the end.

Elio in this storyline is taken from Find Me, so we're dealing with adult Elio, but I'm really glad you're seeing the potential in this cross-over as much as we found it while writing it!
