saturday.
I was thinking of maybe combining Fannish Fifty and the Be The First challenge, also because quite a few of the ballets I'll be writing for don't have fanfiction written for them at this point - and honestly, I might still do that over time, but for now I've started on a slightly bigger writing project for Be The First.
A fanfiction in twelve chapters (one for each month in the year) centering on the adventures following the end of the events in the Danish poetry collection, Omina, that I've RP'd from over here (
Unsurprisingly, being in Danish, there is no fanfiction for it that I can find. So here I am, doing the work.
The plan is that I'm gonna write a prose poem-ish piece for every day in the year following the events in the original collection, while the Amazon is on her way back to the life she left behind to fight her war. Kill count will be marked on days when she has seen battle again. Lunar days (her period) will be marked for when she bleeds. So far, just from the layout and set-up of the fic, I have almost 1000 words in my Word document which I think is impressive. It's just the structure of the fic and some basic notes.
Still. More to come.
Anyway, should anyone else have rare, obscure fandoms they want to write from, I highly recommend this challenge. You have two months to write, submissions end on April 22nd.
Good luck!

Fic fest have been quite a motivator for me personally to keep writing because outside deadlines help, but I am trying to break into that habit and write outside of them too. It's a work in progress but it's there!
I'm currently participating on Kpop Olymfics which is both a fest and a group competition based on song prompts -- which means I am not able to tell exactly what I am writing, but it is kpop (heh!) and it's also a bit ambitious for what I am usually used to writing. Although my ambitious is definitely not spanning through a year (deadline is end of march) but more towards things happening in plot, since I am usually a fluff writer :D

Yeah, writing outside of given deadlines is a hassle for me, too, and I'm really trying to get better at it, but it's not going overly well. Or, I shouldn't say that, I'm making progress! I'm just the impatient type.
Yeah, four rarepair ballet fics wouldn't be too bad either. I have ideas for at least three, so maybe maybe...
