OMINA by Naja Marie Aidt & Mette Moestrup (transl. [personal profile] sunfright)

this will be about
doubt and this will
be a hammer
of burning steel

this will be about
the hardness of the heart
and this will be soft
as a severed breast

STROMAE - MAUVAISE JOURNÉE (1 HOUR)

You're welcome.

1 hour of the best music you'll hear today. Possibly my favourite track from his new album, it's sublime! It has that feeling of Santé, but softer and gentler somehow. I really like how Stromae has grown up with this album, it's obviously the same person who's made the music as his first two albums, but it's more sophisticated, more close to home and more honest. Props to him!

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RL
Wow. What a day. The meeting went well, but I was anxious as fuck and I could feel how both my mentor and my new boss were kinda freaked out over how freaked out I was. It was very unpleasant and I wouldn't do it again for a million dollars. Then, I missed, like, all my busses on the way home. Grandly typical. But I'm here now, got some writing done, eaten some cake (and lunch) and am now ingesting tea like it was my life line. I'm predicting the next couple of days at least will be used trying to get my footing back again.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RP
I've been working on an off on a Carmen fanfic structured like a series of Instagram posts. I found this cool code by [community profile] bootycall and have used it for the fic as framework. Then, I found ten pictures that should signify Carmen's journey from the beginning of the ballet to the end of it, when José kills her. It was really interesting to put the story in a modern setting, because you truly realise how little has changed in the way of violence against women. #angryfeminist I think that's why I enjoy playing Carmen so much! Like Marguerite from The Lady of the Camellias, it's two female characters seen through a male gaze and given sad endings as according to what men expect and want for women, but playing her in her own right, as seen through her own perspective? That's truly liberating!

Anyway, the fic can be found over in Carmen's RP journal. It's ~1250 words long and with a lot of (not always SFW) pictures. Enjoy!

Title: Suite
Summary: If Death doesn't come for her dressed like that, she isn't going.
