Just some good-natured La Dame humour someone made and that I thought was hilarious! Since I'm working on finding A(r)mand(ine)'s voice at the moment, these ones stood out to me the most as spot on, but honestly, everything was to die for. The last picture was just a pretty aesthetic that sums my reading experience up to a T - it's even the same edition of the book!

BASILIO VARIATION - DON QUICHOTTE
Something not Lady-related! In a month or so, the Royal Danish Ballet will be putting on their new production of Don Quixote which I saw the old version of six years ago and loved. This version has brand new costumes (from what I have seen of them, they're not the best) and I think the premiere cast will be Holly and Jonathan Chmelensky, both of whom I adore, so if we catch them in it, everything should be salvaged, even bad costumes. Here's a clip from the Paris Opera Ballet's version, danced sublimely by Germain Louvet. Don't know too much about the new generation of dancers at the POB (or the RDB for that matter), but this looks amazing. SO effortless and full of charm. ♥

Had a quiet morning while K. skyped with one of her friends. Then, we were supposed to go shopping for my birthday present from K. (clothes), but we both got our periods yesterday and I really didn't feel like changing in and out of new clothes in a cramped dressing room, so we skipped that. Instead she went into town to get me a giftcard and a surprise, while I hung out at the local bookstore. Got a thermos for tea and a new notebook that fits the Lady theme and feeling pretty optimistic right now, but of course, right before we had to go out, my mom had to send me a really triggering text that had me dissociating for an hour. I'm so angry with her, the way my parents can never seem not to try and push my boundaries and somehow feel entitled to do that. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about it, but there's definitely a reason my relationship to my parents has been rocky for some time. Still considering how best to cut contact as much as possible, without going no contact with them. Trying to strike that balance. It's hard.
However, the weather is beautiful and warm and I had summer shoes on for the first time today. Hooray?

My interests change and shift a lot these days, if you haven't noticed, keeping my focus on RP'ing one character is difficult and maybe I will just have to give it up for the time being and stick to writing my own stuff.
I want to play r!63 Armand really bad, but historical characters unless you modernize them rarely get much play. I'm trying to tag out, but to no great avail. We'll see. Texting meme goes up tomorrow, I might try my luck regardless of the modernizing aspect.
