sunfright: Holly Dorger in a variation from the Royal Danish Ballet's Napoli. (happy green)

tuesday.

I disappeared. Easter happened and since then, not much else has.

I gave up on chasing the deadline for the Be The First challenge and am saving the rest of the Omina fic (I'm only missing two chapters, so it will eventually get done, promise to myself) for next time it comes around, so I can actually post it all in time.

The past couple of weeks, no doubt due to stress and a lot of anxiety, I've been unusually scattered, even by my standards and I've just tried to hold on to some semblance of continuity. I've roleplayed a lot, but with no great success at anything, nothing that gave me that feeling of satisfaction I guess I'm looking for. K. is busy with her own things, writing another long Star Wars fic, and I try giving her room for that as best I can.

As I sat up last night, I got the idea that maybe RP'ing isn't actually what I'm supposed to be doing, to get that sense of satisfaction, maybe writing on my own is a much better shot. The period when I worked frantically on the Omina fic worked much better for me than this, though the pacing has to be taken back a little at least, I don't want to drive myself into the ground.

So I got the idea of a kind of middle ground. I haven't written a single Fannish Fifty thing this year yet and I won't be trying to play catch-up, but I hope that I can get something ready for Friday or the Friday after that. I have some femslash stories lying around in Danish for the ballet, Napoli and translating them would fill two out of four slots for that ballet and maybe give me the courage to write some new stuff for the two other pairings, before possibly moving on the La Sylphide and A Folk Tale, so I could if nothing else represent the Bournonville heritage that I associate so strongly with the Royal Danish Ballet before the year is out. I think that might be a plan.

Which means I've sat down with the short story "Sommergul" (Summer-yellow or Yellow of Summer, I'll find a title that sounds a little nicer in English) now and have started translating that. It's a story that symbolizes the femslash pairing between the yellow variation girl and the blue variation girl in Napoli's pas de six, something I'll touch upon more in-depth in my introduction to the fic that's part of the Fannish Fifty package for me. One introduction + one fic. If I can get both this fic translated (roughly) and the introduction written for Friday, it's going up there, otherwise the next Friday is the goal.

I've found this beautiful layout by [community profile] myrtillenne and it is going to be my soon-summer layout, so I can fill some sun and brightness into my life. Gods know, I need it.

Anyway, I'll try to be back a bit more frequently the coming time. Thanks for waiting around.
