friday.
Things that are related to my NaNo writings, but not actually... well, writing.
The day before NaNo began, I tried to pass time by making a découpage cover for my book, since I'm more comfortable with doing things like that by hand than on the computer. I really liked the outcome, but our scanner at home doesn't work, so I couldn't scan it to show. And my phone is old and basically dead, so taking a picture wouldn't be worth it, too grainy.
Finally I made my girlfriend take a picture of it with her phone, but then forgot to upload and share it anywhere (like the Danish Discord server for NaNoWriMo or here), but today is the day.
I started out doing quite the writing spurt, so I'm allowed to procrastinate a bit. I'm way ahead what I normally am at this point of the day.
The cover looks like this!

The picture is taken in the evening and mutes the colours a bit, but I was going for a purple colour scheme, obviously, to fit the title. I would never be able to use it or anything, because the photo I've used for backdrop is copyrighted, but for a project cover, I really like it and I'd love something along these lines, if this fic was a book that was going to be published. That homemade, simplistic, almost naivistic feel? I love it. It contrasts my writing style for this beautifully.
Besides that, I've just rediscovered a song that is totally my theme song for this writing project right now. Cristina Gatti is a former Postmodern Jukebox girl (I adore Postmodern Jukebox), but has gone solo and one of her first singles was this, Devotion. The music video is a piece of art in and by itself, but her smokey voice and the lyrics that are just on the right side of creepy? It's just amazing.
So, you get a little something to listen to on a Friday, too! After that, I'm out for now.
