sunfright: Alexander Bozinoff as Armand in The Lady of the Camellias. (noctuary)

Gearing up for a new x-over psl with Elio from Call Me By Your Name, this time we're sending him back in time to the 18th century Our Flag Means Death-verse. I've already written a fic with him working for Michel, Michel being the King of France in this set-up, as a court musician and teacher which was a fun fic to write. Now I'm doing a short retelling of the events of CMBYN, if they'd happened in year 1700. First scene done, currently chewing on how best to progress, but probably something about Oliver charming everyone (including Elio, although he doesn't wanna admit it) and how Elio tries getting over him, not even 100% aware of being into him in the first place. Meanwhile, I'm slowly chewing my way through the book itself, enjoying every moment, every page. I may hate Oliver as a person, but I do love him as a character, I think he'd brilliantly written and portrayed.

I just wish he and Elio hadn't been endgame. Unapologetic Michel/Elio-shipper, here.

Which leads me to me making more collage art. This time I've made two pieces, thematically connected, the theme is summer vibes and then, I did the therapeutic thing and cut up parts of Find Me to make cut-out poetry with it, which is like black-out poetry, just cutting words and sentences out of a text and putting them together in a new and exciting way. I did one for my favourite vignette in Find Me and I did one of my least favourite segment, and funnily enough the best poem was born out of my hatred to the ending, the Da Capo chapter.

Made from my favourite scene on the left, my least favourite on the right.

Someone on the writing server on Discord that I frequent has called dibs on the right one, so that one is actually sold. I can't believe I'm now for real making art people wanna buy. That's a wild feeling. ... Now I just need people to begin wanting to pay for what I write, LOL.

Anyway, it's nice being back in my comfort fandom and feeling a bit more grounded again, after weeks and weeks of restlessness and discomfort, creatively.

This is good. This is what I need right now.

I also just found out Aciman has releaseed a new novel two weeks ago, The Gentleman From Peru, I think it was called, and I need it ASAP, because the main character sounds just like Michel and I need more Michel-ness in my life. Next month, I'm buying that and a hardcover version of CMBYN. Might as well become a collector already.
