Wanted to start Sunday (it's half past six here, very early still) off with a recommendation, music-wise. On the album I rec'ced a few days ago from Putumaya Presents, my favourite song is this, La Traiettorie delle Mongolfiere by Gianmaria Testa. It's jazz, but very easy-going jazz. Even for me, who fucking love jazz, it can sometimes be a difficult genre to listen to due to the tonal complexity (like, most purely instrumental jazz or genres like jazz fusion are almost impossible), but this song just rolls right through the system, like waves. It's so soothing!! And this man's voice?? It reminds me a lot of Phil Collins, for some reason. Which is weird, because I don't listen to a lot of Phil Collins otherwise? But it does and it's a stamp of approval.

Yesterday, I didn't go to bed until half past ten (with the past couple of days I've gone to bed no later than nine), and I think it's had an impact on my sleep. I haven't slept badly, just not as well as the past week, a lot of waking up in fits and starts, more toilet-running than usually and so. I did, however, manage to stay in bed until six which is kinda the earliest I wanna get up, these days when I'm attempting to turn my sleep pattern around. Still trying to wake up, but I have chamomile tea, so that should come naturally little by little.

The reason I went to sleep later was that I got into such a good writing flow! I wrote the next scene of my story which is the first scene where Giovanina faces Teresina in person. Very emotional and pivotal scene, so I didn't wanna stop halfway through and maybe have to struggle back into the feeling of it. I haven't reread the final scene yet, though. It might all be garbage, but it was a good process and I look forward to editing it and expanding upon it, maybe. Working with it, under any circumstances.

A little bit stuffy today, so probably gonna do not much of anything while I figure out whether it's anything to worry about or just morning stuffy nose. That does happen.

Need more tea.

Today, I joined [community profile] tinyfandomflash, a community for flash fiction written for tiny fandoms (500 fics on AO3 or less). New prompts go up twice a month and you can answer any prompt at any time. I just thought it looked swell. And maybe, once I'm done with this novel-length Napoli fic, I can go back to writing shorter pieces again? Maybe? Please?

Now, almost ten hours since I last updated, I've gotten the first scene, the one I wrote yesterday, late, before bedtime, edited finally - and I've written the last scene of this whole chapter, too. I feel majorly accomplished.

The girls have met and will be sleeping in the same bed for the first time since they were teenagers between the scene I just wrote and the next, where the fourth chapter begins. Nothing romantic or sexual will come of that at first, but emotionally, they've definitely picked up their old bond and I've, thematically, been able to tie some things together, front to back. I love being able to make pointers back and forth throughout a text, it's the kind of inter-textuality that makes both writing and reading so much fun. Recognising previous hints and themes. Finding new clues and little ribbons, tied around particular words, actions or dialogue bits. Treasure hunt, but literary.

I love that.

For now, I hope to be able to write the first scene of the fourth chapter today as well. It should, by all estimations, be a rather short one, but I haven't quite figured out the angle or the starting point I wanna take, so we'll see if it has to wait till tomorrow when I've had more time to think. Plot. Plan.

Maybe that should honestly just be my ambition for night, plot and plan how the fourth chapter is supposed to start off.

We're having oven-baked salmon tonight with a marinate of cajun seasoning, parsley and garlic. It was super delicious last time we had it, so gotta say I'm looking forward to it. Some spicy cucumber salat with that on the side.

At the moment, my mouth is a happy place, thanks to K. being okay with cooking so often.

If it was me in charge of the kitchen, we'd just have chicken seven days a week. LOL.
