I watched a Takarazuka show tonight. The first one I've watched in years. We were tired after a long day of shopping and family tension and such, so we just needed some passive entertainment that was familiar and loved. Choice fell on Datenshi no Namida (Lucifer's Tears) which is our favourite Takarazuka show ever and it still delights us, cracks us up, moves us and leaves us in tears, I can inform you, even ten years later. That's good musical theatre! My favourite Takarasienne ever, Maikaze Rira, plays the main musumeyaku role in it, not the meatiest part, but definitely the most touching. I would have loved to show you her pas de deux of light with her partner, Asami Hikaru, but it's not uploaded on YouTube any longer. Instead I found this which is from the corresponding revue show and one of my favourite choreographies ever. So beautiful. That entire revue will definitely be watched some other time.
When we feel the nostalgia knocking on our door once more.
