friday.

Yesterday was... wow, what a ride.

I had a nice visit with my friend and got the cutest cup with a hand-painted broccoli on it. It's a lot smaller than my other personal cup, so now I have a cup for all occasions. We also had a nice talk and a traditional (though vegan) rice pudding that everyone eats for X-mas in Denmark, if they observe the holidays. It was just... cozy, safe and really comfortable. I hope I can make time for another visit with her before New Year's.

After that, K. and I went to buy the last X-mas presents for her family and omg, naturally, everyone else had got the same idea. Finding parking almost got us into a roadrage fight which was really an uncomfortable experience and stressed K. out a lot (she was the one driving, I don't have a driver's license), but we managed to buy the rest of the presents and I've wrapped everything now, except our gift to her parents.

I hate gift-wrapping toys. They always come in clunky, not-square boxes or have weird shapes. It's a nightmare to get to look nice (and yeah, okay, I could just not care what it looks like, but I have an aesthetic sense), so I spent an hour this morning on the last children's presents (K. has three nieces and a nephew all younger than 10). I'm wiped.

The past three nights I've slept really well, compared to usually. I think I'm finding a routine where I only get out of bed to go to the toilet and then, go straight back to bed again afterwards. Usually, I'd get up once I'm awake and stay up which is awful for my sleeping pattern, but this seems to work for now. However, K. is going to help me get started on Melatonin tonight, so I might get to sleep all through the night without waking 1-3 times, as is the case right now.

Today is our day off before X-mas tomorrow (we celebrate the 24th in Denmark), so we'll be doing some light cleaning and eating more rice pudding for dinner and just relax. I really need to calm down, because my stress levels are through the roof. Everything makes me feel anxious and on the verge of tears.

So, I just listen to the above music, which is my favourite holiday album, hands down, and try to take in that smooth, soft, jazzy feeling.
