sunday.
It's very, very early morning. I've been up for more than an hour. Couldn't fall asleep last night, apparently couldn't stay asleep either, so here I am.
I posted the first chapter of my Lady of the Camellias fic to AO3 finally. Have been dying to do so since I got the corrections and comments from
Please, if you're at all curious, go give it a read. Although it's an obscure fandom, or perhaps because it is, it reads very much like an original fic. You don't need much canon familiarity at all. Probably not more than my crazed rambling about the ballet on here.
Title: Humility
Universe: The Lady of the Camellias (ballet)
Character(s): Manon Lescaut/Marguerite Gautier
Rating: M
Warnings: Mature sexual content, romanticized portrayal of sex work, major character death, dysfunctional relationships, terminal illness (tuberculosis)
Summary: Yes, my name will be hers. “Manon to Marguerite”. The man himself wrote it in flourished script on the first page of my story. Humility, he wrote, and I still think, whose? That word is foreign to women like Marguerite Gautier and me. That word means nothing, it is naught but worthless promises. As in reality all promises are. At the end of things.
Length: ~15.000 words, this chapter ~5000
Author's Notes: Written for NaNoWrimo 2022, rebel project.

Next 3 chapters go up the next 3 Sundays before X-mas. It's like an Advent calendar.
