X. THE EPICURE by Anacreon

Fill the Bowl with rosie wine,
Around our temples Roses twine.
And let us chearfully awhile,
Like the Wine and Roses smile.
Crown'd with Roses we contemn
Gyges wealthy Diadem.
To day is Ours; what do we fear?
To day is Ours; we have it here.
Let's treat it kindly, that it may
Wish, at least, with us to stay.
Let's banish Business, banish Sorrow;
To the Gods belongs To morrow.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RL
I had a God-awful day yesterday and needed to post a poem about just seizing the day and make it your own, because what comes tomorrow is out of your control. I found one in the neat little collection of poetry from Greek Antiquity that I bought! Actually, a lot of the poems in there are about that - they're about either that or death or love. Seems people have always been the same, huh?

Today is my quiet day off before my first day in internship tomorrow. I can't feel my own nervousness any longer, probably not because I'm not nervous, but because I'm slowly dissociating from the feeling, the way I tend to do when my emotional life is too much for me to handle.

I plan on using today on getting a shower - yes, this is always a big thing for me, takes a lot of energy, so it needs to be planned beforehand - and just... get ready for tomorrow. I also hope to get some writing done.

K.'s home until noon where she'll be going to work. Always nice to have her home, always a little stressful, too.

I'm listening to the Gladiator soundtrack. I love Hans Zimmer music. K. took me to one of his concerts when they were on tour in Europe and it was pretty amazing. So amazing that while I was listening to this thing on YouTube a specific part of it gave me severe goosebumps, because I remembered how it had sounded with live orchestra and choir at the concert. And it's, like, three years ago? Before corona.

Some things talk directly to your nervous system. This was one of them. Ballet does the same thing for me. I think it's the lack of lyrics and dialogue, you only understand with your body, not your head.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN RP
Plans for today include:
- Putting up a meme of some sort to [community profile] bakerstreet.
- Writing some love poetry from Timachus to Otanius, inspired by the Greek poetry I've been reading.
- Maybe get started on another Timachus fic... Maybe not...
- Tagging around with Timachus a bit. I have emptied my inbox, so it'll be new things.

I have a very interesting love letter thread going with one of the Chinese wizards (Wen Kexing from Word of Honor). As well as an action thread going with another original character. And some loose texting and dialogue-ish threads here and there. I think Timachus is getting a very good reception right now and people are willing to give him a shot, despite him being an OC from a very obscure fantasy world.

Not to mention, Otanius and Timachus are getting places in K.'s and my PSL which is nice. I really love them as a pairing. They're very low-arousal and soft together, while still being passionate and having that 'made for each other' vibe that we seem to always end up working with, K. and I.
