FRAGMENT 126 by Sappho

Henri Matisse: La Desserte Rouge.
Been going on a bit of an art spree on Tumblr the past few days and I really, really love Matisse's use of bold colours. Like, there's so much joy and strength in his stark palette that I completely adore. This was probably my favourite of the things I came across, but especially his portraits of women are gorgeous. Just in general.

FIVE BRAHMS WALTZES IN THE MANNER OF ISADORA DUNCAN - TAMARA ROJO (excerpt)
This ballet was part of the first performance I ever saw with the Royal Danish Ballet, a mixed program with focus on the ballerina. Serenade was part of it, too and I think those two pieces, Serenade and these Brahms waltzes were what made the biggest impression on me that night. I still remember the colour scheme of this one and the dreamy, naturally-flowing movements on bare feet. As far as I can look up cast lists, Amy Watson was the one to dance it and to this date I haven't seen her better in anything. She was exquisite. Tamara Rojo in this video is also amazing, very atmospheric and almost hypnotic to watch. So glad this exists on video, so I can still recall it as vividly as ten years ago.

Nothing is happening. I am surviving. I am anxious, but I am surviving and that's pretty much it. Just trying to distract myself as much as possible. Concert tomorrow. I almost don't dare think of it. That excited. And that afraid.
